These guys make you think you're working with a good company, until they CLAIM the payment didn't get there in time and then stiff you out of 25 bucks...
I was approved on Jan 3rd, 2007. It is now Jan 29th, 2007. Still no card. Delivery time sucks!
I applied for this card on Oct 27,2006. I was approved for a partially secured card. I am in reestablishing my credit. I got a $500 credit line with a $99 security deposit. I have had the card for a few months and haven't had any problems. The only con is that there is a 2 day period between the time that you maka a payment online and the time that it posts to your acocunt. Not a problem for me, it's just that when I make a payment on Thursday, I can't use my card until Saturday. Yeah, I am a shopper. I use this $500 to give myself a payday advance. I have a good job and I will give you an update when I am able to upgrade my card later on this year. I'm crossing my fingers for the Visa Signature with World Points. Apparently you can request what you want your credit line to be. If you are approved at $10,000 you can have it. I've got the money and the job to support it. Amazing what you can get accomplished. Credit is important!! I learned the hard way, but I straightened mine up and it wasnt as bad as you may think. My fico was a 600 and in 7 months I am at 640. Slowly but surely.
i really hate bank of america with banking and this card i pay on time every month never late since i had the card i ask for a credit raise and it was denied also i was close to my limit but not over and how they put a charge on my account that took me over the limit i call and ask what the charge was and the rep didnt even seem to know they not once said i would be charge and keep in mind they never told me there was going to be a charge on there of almost 40.00 and i ask her she said no and it poped up anyway ive had situations more than three times dealing with them and this card hiding charges so stay away because even if its not your fault you pay and even if it s theres you pay.........................bpp
Great card. I'm not sure what product this is though; Unsecured with no-annual fee. I received it when I made a branch teller transaction. (The teller said I was preapproved; typed something in the computer; the account showed up in my online banking the next day; card arrived in 5 days). FICO was 575 then. It was a low limit of $500 but has quadrupled since approval. 18.24%
Just a thought to those who are interested in cards such as tribute, salute, continental finance ect.
If you got a extra 300 dollars to spend at once i think this would be a good route to go. Go get a bank of america secured card you send them as little as 300 as a security deposit and that will be your credit limit and your annual fee would only be 29 dollars a year, and they report it to all three credit reports. and once your credit gets better overtime and you get better offers then you can close this account and get your 300 deposit refuned back to you. I went this route and so far its helped me alot and sure beats those other cards with setup fees/ monthly fees ect. Just an idea and though. also check your local bank some do offer secured cards too.
Chris
Approved!!
I THINK This card is a scam no, no, no, this bank is a scam they tricked me i thought i had a good credit card i didn't have to pay anything first no deposit i thought i had a promotional rate of 0% apr on everything for six months or until march 2008 or at least thats what i was told i check my account and see an anuall fee of 59.00 so i call them up tell them about the fee and that i am not supposed to have one and also that i am still in my promotional period so i shouldn't be getting any intrest or apr fees. They tell me that i have an unsecured card so thats why i didn't have to pay a deposit but (there is alway's a but) I do have an annual fee now i explaine to them no thats not what i was told they tell me that thats what they have in the computer i told them i would have never signed up for a card like that they tell me "well im sorry to hear that and she will make a note that i was misinformed and also don't charge me an over the limit fee and make my apr go up to default. Oh and lets not forget i am not even in a promotional period i get a 2.9 intrest rate on all purchases " mind you this means i was mislead lied to and cheated i am so sick of this bank treating its customers like numbers. this is all they had to say "it's not secured but it is" whatever thats supposed to mean. so yes i am stuck with this crappy card for now but i will speak to an attorney i don't think this is right.
Originally applied for BOA World Points MC back in late July (at the suggestion of the rep I was chatting with online). Was declined about 10 business days later, but received the 99/500 offer that expired on 9/22. I mailed the offer on 9/20 and they cashed my check on 9/28. My wife told me earlier this week that BOA had called me a couple of times while I was at work. When I called them on Wednesday the 10th, they tried to offer me a high tier NFL card. I explained to the rep that I had been declined for the MC and had applied for the 99/500. She switched me over to the customer service line. That rep told me that I should receive the card late this week or early next week. It arrived today. Can anyone give me some info on 1) if they will convert it to an unsecured card, 2) how long that may take, 3) when/if they will increase the CL and by what amounts in what time frames, and 4) what type of spending and payment pattern will make this happen quickly. Thanks all.
The B of A 99/500 program is probably one of the best, if not the best program in the market today for people who need to establish or re-establish their credit. No outrageous upfront fees, and you get your $99 back after 9 months if pay on time. In addition, they upgrade and give you a real unsecured credit card for taking responsibility. I have had this card for 6 months now, and hopefully in 3 months I will get a real credit card. I hope B of A continues to offer this program in the future.
I applied for this card today and was approved with a $6300 CL. and 8.99% variable APR. I will keep an eye on this to make sure I get the 0% apr promotion as promised. Very good card with a good bank, especially compared to where i started.
I have been a long time customer of BOA. When I had identity theft they worked very closely with me. During the repairing of my credit they did close out my BOA visa account and moved it to a secure card till the issues were resolved. Recently I received a preapproval in the mail for an Alumni card ( University of Pennsylvania Platinum Plus Visa) I did apply and was granted an initial credit line of $5,000. After calling BOA credit department I spoke to a representative who was more than happy to work with me. After a nice conversation BOA did the following to thank me for being a long time customer
0% for 12 months
4.9% fixed for 12 months for balance transfers.
Raise in credit limit to $20,000 after sending in pay stubs to verify income of over $150,000.
I have had my doubts about BOA but after the way I was recently treated I will continue to be a loyal customer for many years to come.

Bank of America has been my bank for nearly 20 years and they offered me this card one day while I was on the phone with them with an account inquiry. They approved my for $2500 with 0% interest for the first year and variable prime plus 6.99% afterwards. My EQ is 671 and EX 670. The card is serviced by FIA Card Services and they pulled my EQ. Bank of America has the best customer service of any company I have ever dealt with. Every time I call I get a human being on the phone quickly and they are always professional and always very sensitive to my requests. I would like to apply for the Bank of America American Express card, but I think they would expect a score in the mid 700's.
Well,..i bank with them so i tried. Chatted with the lady on line and she said that i have to be declined a card to be offered the $99/500. it takes about 7 days to get the offer in the mail...well i\'ve tried right away and was declined for this card.
they did however offered the regular secured visa...i\'ll take it.
My aunt got this card for me in her name back in november and added me as an authorize user. She has the boa american express and raves about it all the time. Her credit is very good. The initial limit was $4400. I always use this card and pay in full. In march she added me as a joint account holder. They did a hard pull and to my surprise they added me. This month I got the statement and they gave a $500 cli. Their customer service is excellent. I love this card.
APPROVED FOR THE 99/500 DEAL. GOT THE CARD AND NOT BAD.
I asked my wife to add me as a second card holder and she did so they will send me the card 7 to 10 days
My question is there any benefit or anything that I should know ?
Our credit limit is $2600
It wont harm both us we both have good to excellent credit .
Please give me some info. if you are second cardholder ..
Thank You,
Alex
HELLO I JUST GOT MARRIED IN MAY MY WIFE DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING ON HER CREDIT REPORT BUT A CAR LOAN SHE GOT IN DEC OF 2007 I TOLD HER SHE NEED TO START GETTING CREDIT SO WE CAN BUY A HOME WILL AFTHER BEING A ON MY BOFA CREDIT CARD ACC I TOLD TO TRY TO GET ONE IN HER NAME WITH OUT ME BEING ON IT WILL SHE GOT THE CARD WITH A 10,000 CL THANKS BOFA
Finally got my BofA card today. It has been 40 days to the day I took my application to the local BofA branch to send it in. Not sure of my scores then but my PFICO was 646. I was approved for this card after being declined for a regular unsecured Platinum Visa from them. I just wish I could add money to my account to increase the credit line.
I opened this account back in 11/06 as a secured account with only $300 cl. 9 months later I called bofa and asked them to graduate it to non secured, they did and gave me $500 cli.
In 6/08 I called bofa again and asked them to convert it to bofa amex acceleratd rewards card, bofa approved the conversion after a month and i recieved the black amex with $1300 cl.
I used the visa card heavely in the past two years with purchases exceeding $9000 in total, never late, zerood it out almost every statement period, used no more than 19%, except one month i came to 70% of my limit and zero out before it was due, I remember a really good thing about this visa card and bofa dispute department is that they returned me $260 in charges that i disputed to a crook mechanic who didn't fix my car right.
I really didn't want to right this review since every body will try to do the same thing with bofa (the great),(the bank), the bank of all banks, but since FG helped me out this a tribute to FG or pay back review.
I'm gonna write a review on the amex card minutes later.
My current scores according to chase id protection which i dont recommend to any body since it is not a good credit monitoring service is experian 651, TU 676,equifax 670.
I belive that bofa has the best customer service ,that is better than american express itself where i found people who could'nt speak english right, and i loath chase, and detest citi hsbc and all the big crooks out there.
Still there is a lot of people still wanna go with first premire and other cards that lowers their scores and empties thier wallet , to them I say god bless!!!
So anyway I applied for the platinum plus card and i got denined, and i thought that i would. Well to my surpise i say they came back and told me that i was approved for 500 dollar card, But the problem was they didnt tell me if there was a deposit on the card and after calling them they said that it was unsecured but i dont see how that is. If anyone can help me out that would be very appricated.
