I already have a Bank of America credit card for 4 years now and I think its time to add another one. I was approved instantly for $3300.00 ... kind of low but I will ask for more later. I don't have any problem with Bank of America, but most Bank of America reward programs is kind of "cheap" ... but other than that everything is great.

I have this card for 6 months now. Unlike my other B of A cards, this one does NOT report your credit limit, instead it reports the maximum amount you owed that month, therefore, making the account looked MAXED out on your credit report instead of the actual cushion of credit you may have. I have a $25,000 credit line, however, it reports what I owe that month of like $2300 as the maximum credit and it looks maxed out even though its only 10% of the credit used. Good card, but awful reporting, therefore, I would NOT suggest this card.

I upgraded my bank of america american express to the visa signature because i heard it was the top of the line visa card . I love all the extra benefits you get with it except for one thing . It is a no pre-set spending limit card which means they dont report a credit line to the bureus . They only report what you owe making your account look maxed out . Does this really affect my scores ? Should I just ask for this account to be changed to a regular visa ?

I APPLIED FOR THIS CARD COUPLE DAYS A GO AND THEY DENIED ME SAYING I HAVE BAD CREDIT..CALLED TO RECONSIDER BUT STILL NO...SO TODAY WHEN I CALLED THEM TO REFINANCE MY AUTO LOAN THEY APPROVED ME..AND ALSO ASK ME IF I WANTED TO HAVE THEIR CARD AND I SAID NO.. YOU GUYS DENIED ME SO I DONT WANT TO APPLY ANY MORE..BUT THE REP SAID I WAS APPROVED FOR 10K LIMIT..SINCE I HAVE GOOD RELATION SHIP WITH THEM...SO I WAS APPROVED FOR THIS CARD 0% FOR YEAR..AND ALSO WORLD POINT..LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

Most of the stuff I've written in the below linked review still applies, I'll just talk about what I have noticed that is different so far:

First thing, everybody seems concerned about the fact that, with no preset limit, credit reports will show the high balance as the credit limit. In my case, I pulled an Experian report yesterday as I am looking into closing some other consumer accounts (Newegg, Amazon, etc). Although I hadn't received this card in the mail until today, it was already on the report with the credit limit listed as $24,000. So, at least in my case, they are reporting something other than the balance.

That said, in bold print on the welcome brochure is "This credit card has no pre-set spending limit. This does not mean that all transactions will be approved. We will consider transactions for approval on an individual basis, **including transactions in excess of the Revolving Line** (referred to above as your Credit Line)." Emphasis mine. Most of the hate on this card seems to be on this CL issue, so maybe things are better now :-)

Activation was easy although I made a mistake keying in the number so I wound up talking to a CSR. I was pleasantly surprised at not having to turn down one of those stupid credit protection plans - it was not offered. I was offered a balance transfer promotion, they told me the outstanding balances I had on other accounts...already knew this, but helpful anyway. And we were done.

Speaking of balance transfers, I do have a 0% promotion expiring in April, most of which I plan to roll over to this card more than likely. Knowing that would increase utilization, I requested a CLI online - the first time I had ever requested a CLI from any bank. So I was a little nervous :-) This was approved instantly up to $28,800. I was hoping for $28k even so I'm happy.

The perks on this card like the concierge etc...I wonder if I'll ever use them? But I'll definitely take advantage of the rewards program and various discounts if possible. When I converted my BofA MasterCard to this new Visa, the CSR told me that my rewards points would be forfeit...as of right now, the old points are still there. So there's that.

For anyone else considering a product change with BofA, it took three weeks from the initial phone call to having the new card in my hand. Oh and there's no cool picture of Saturn on this card :-/
