I applied for this card tonight since Eric convinced me that when BofA rolls out with a new card, they approve a lot of people. But that wasn't my case with me. I was hoping they would look at my payment history with the other card I have with them which is the Student Platinum Plus Visa. My FICO score at the time was 693 Experian.
I have this card for half year, and I am satisfied for credit line that BOA gave me ($5k). I often use it as everyday purchases along with my 2% cashback Orchard bank Mastercard. Although the APR is very high (18%), since I don't carry balance on this card, it doesn't matter to me.
I called BOA today to see how long before I could be considered for an upgrade to the BankAmericard from my World Points Visa. They said that since I was a long-term customer with deposit accounts that they would upgrade me today. That's awesome considering they just upgraded me to WorldPoints Visa in July.
Should receive the card in 5 to 7 business days according to the CSR.
Approved June 08 for $5000 Dollar CLI All three Credit Bureaus above 700 FICO & No Baddies. Also have a car loan with them. Currently like Bank of America and the way they are treating me! I had a car loan with them in the past. When they were Nationsbank they have always been generous in personnel banking with me. Definately a Good Bank!
I had my Student Platinum Visa open for a year and on my year anniversary date I received a CLI from $800 to $1300. I called in to see if I could get an upgrade to the BankAmericard and was xferred to a credit analyst. The analyst said that because of my good banking relationship (checking + savings) and good payment history, he was able to upgrade the card. No annual fee. APR remained the same at 14% from the student card. I got xferred to retentions to see about lowering it, but they said I would have to wait longer. The point system lets you rackup points rapidly!
BOA Analyst said that CLIs were based off of the credit other companies are willing to give you, how aggressively you charge and pay off, and your utilization.
I love the website design, especially the chat and email feature which helps me when I am at work or when I do not want to wait on the phone. SafePass is a great security feature!
i have this card for a year now with a 9k limit. 4 months ago i needed some money for my business. so out of all my cards i chose this one to borrow from. i took out 8k. i made a little more than the minimum amount every month. a week ago i finally had some extra money so i went online and paid it in full. i owe nothing to any other card and scores are 750+. today i go online and i see that my credit limit went from 9k to 2k. i said what?.it cant be. i called them and they said that there was an unusual pattern in your usage which led to this. unusual.. why didnt you say something when i took out the $8000. it should been decreased then. but when i paid it back there should be no point to decrease it. i paid interest for 4 months and now when i paid it in full you guys cant make money from me so you decreased the limit. thats messed up. i loved this bank. i have 2 cards and a checking account.. since they done this i wont close any accounts but move my business to citibank. never depositing a single penny in bank of america again..do you guys think i should close this credit card account or no?
